How do you change a cambelt on your Peugeot 206 gti 180 05 plate?

Tools required:

- 10mm socket

- 13mm socket

- 17mm socket

- 24mm socket

- Torque wrench

- Flathead screwdriver

- Pliers

- Cambelt tensioner tool

Instructions:

1. Park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.

3. Open the hood and remove the engine cover.

4. Locate the cambelt tensioner. It is a black plastic housing located on the front of the engine, just above the crankshaft pulley.

5. Loosen the cambelt tensioner bolt using a 13mm socket.

6. Gently pry the tensioner away from the cambelt using a flathead screwdriver or a pair of pliers.

7. Slide the old cambelt off the pulleys.

8. Inspect the cambelt for signs of wear or damage. If the cambelt is cracked, frayed, or has any missing teeth, it must be replaced.

9. Install the new cambelt by looping it over the pulleys in the correct order. The correct routing of the cambelt is shown in the diagram below.

10. Once the cambelt is in place, gently pry the tensioner back into place and tighten the tensioner bolt using a 13mm socket.

11. Rotate the engine crankshaft two full revolutions by hand. This will help to seat the cambelt properly.

12. Recheck the cambelt tension and adjust it if necessary. The cambelt should be tight enough so that it does not slip, but not so tight that it puts excessive strain on the engine.

13. Replace the engine cover and close the hood.
