What kind of refrigerant did motor home coaches use in 1991?

In 1991, most motor home coaches used R-22 refrigerant, also known as chlorodifluoromethane (CHClF2), in their cooling systems. R-22 was commonly used in residential and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems before the introduction of more environmentally friendly alternatives such as R-410a and R-134a.

It's important to note that the use of R-22 refrigerant has phased out due to its contribution to ozone depletion and in line with international agreements such as the Montreal Protocol. Modern motor home coaches now typically use more environmentally friendly refrigerants, such as R-134a, which has a lower Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to R-22.
