NOTE: The thermostat should be replaced any time the engine coolant is drained.
1. Allow the engine to cool.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the thermostat housing bolts and remove the housing from the cylinder head.
4. Remove the thermostat from the housing.
5. Install the new thermostat in the housing, ensuring the spring tab is positioned toward the engine.
6. Reinstall the thermostat housing and bolts, and tighten them to the specified torque.
7. Refill the cooling system.
8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
