Hydroplaning is caused by a buildup of water between a tire and the road surface. This can occur when the road is wet and there is not enough tread on the tires to channel water away. An air jet placed in front of the tires would not create enough force to disperse water and prevent tire contact with water buildup, which is required to prevent hydroplaning.
