1. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
2. Locate the TPS sensor on the throttle body. It is typically mounted on the side of the throttle body, near the throttle linkage.
3. Connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the signal wire of the TPS sensor. This is typically a dark blue wire.
4. Connect the negative lead of the voltmeter to the ground terminal on the battery.
5. Observe the voltmeter reading. The TPS voltage should be between 0 and 5 volts, depending on the throttle position.
6. If the voltage is not between 0 and 5 volts, the TPS sensor may be faulty and will need to be replaced.
