Where do all the new cars go that get sold?

When a new car is sold, it typically goes through the following process:

1. Dealership: The car is sold to a customer from a car dealership. The dealership may be owned by the manufacturer of the car, or it may be an independent business.

2. Manufacturer: The dealership then sends the purchase information to the car manufacturer. The manufacturer tracks the car's sale and may adjust its production schedule accordingly.

3. Distribution center: The car is then transported from the dealership to a distribution center. This is a large warehouse where cars are stored before being shipped to dealerships or customers.

4. Transport: From the distribution center, the car is transported to its final destination. This can be done by truck, train, or ship.

5. Customer: The car is finally delivered to the customer. This may be done at the dealership, or the car may be shipped directly to the customer's home.

In some cases, new cars may be sold directly from the manufacturer to the customer. This is known as a factory order, and it allows customers to customize their car to their exact specifications.
