* Step 1: Install the connecting rod with the bearing shell to bearing cap using a new connecting rod bolt.
* Step 2: Tighten the connecting rod bolt to 200 - 220 lb-ft (270 - 300 N-m).
* Step 3: Clean the threads on the connecting rod bolt of any oil.
* Step 4: Apply Loctite 242 thread locker to the threads.
* Step 5: Install the second connecting rod bolt onto the connecting rod and turn it in until the bolt head contacts the cap nut.
* Step 6: Install a new nut on the connecting rod bolt and tighten it to 200 - 220 lb-ft (270 - 300 N-m).
Crankshaft Main Bearing Bolts
* Step 1: Lubricate the threads of the crankshaft main bearing bolts with clean engine oil.
* Step 2: Install the bearing cap on the cylinder block with a new bearing cap bolt.
* Step 3: Tighten the main bearing cap bolt to 450 - 485 lb-ft (615 - 658 N-m).
* Step 4: Clean the bolt threads of excess engine oil.
* Step 5: Apply Loctite 242 thread locker to the threads.
* Step 6: Tighten the main bearing cap bolts a final time to 450 - 485 lb-ft (615 - 658 N-m).
