1. Check your parking brake handle to ensure it is fully disengaged. If the handle is not all the way down, the parking brake light may stay on.
2. If the handle is fully disengaged, check the brake fluid level in your brake fluid reservoir. If the fluid level is low, it will cause the parking brake light to stay on. Try adding brake fluid until it reaches the "Full" mark.
3. If the brake fluid level is fine, there may be a problem with the parking brake switch. The switch is located under the parking brake handle. To check the switch, you can:
-Turn off the ignition.
-Pull up on the parking brake handle.
-Use a multimeter to test the voltage at the switch. If the switch is working properly, you should get a reading of 12 volts.
-If you get a reading of less than 12 volts, the switch is faulty. You will need to replace it with a new one.
-Try disconnecting and reconnecting the switch; this may resolve contact problems.
4. If none of the above steps work, you may need to take your vehicle to a mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
