There are two possible locations for the cigarette lighter fuse on a 2001 Chevy Malibu:

1) In the interior fuse box, located under the driver's side of the dashboard. The fuse is labeled "CIGAR" or "PWR OUTLET".

2) In the underhood fuse box, located in the engine compartment near the battery. The fuse is labeled "CIG LTR" or "P/OUTLET".
