1. Prepare the Vehicle: Park the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and disconnect the battery.
2. Locate the Antenna Module: The power antenna module is located in the rear of the vehicle, in the trunk, or behind the rear seats.
3. Remove the Trunk Liner: Use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the trunk liner in place. Carefully remove the liner to access the antenna module.
4. Disconnect the Electrical Connections: Locate the electrical connector attached to the antenna module. Press the release tab on the connector and gently pull to disconnect it.
5. Remove the Antenna Cable: Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to loosen the bolt securing the antenna cable. Disconnect the cable from the module by pushing the release tab on the connector.
6. Remove the Antenna: Use a 7mm socket and ratchet to remove the bolts holding the antenna to the vehicle body. There may be two or more bolts depending on the model. Carefully lift the antenna from the vehicle.
7. Unbolt and Remove the Antenna Module: Use a 7mm socket and ratchet to remove the bolts securing the antenna module to the vehicle body. Carefully lift the module out of the vehicle.
8. Install the New Antenna Module: Position the new antenna module in place and hand-tighten the bolts. Make sure the module is securely mounted before tightening the bolts with the 7mm socket and ratchet.
9. Reconnect the Electrical Connections: Attach the antenna cable to the new module by pushing the connector onto the port until it clicks into place. Reconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and inserting it into the module until it locks.
10. Install the New Antenna: Position the new antenna on the vehicle body and hand-tighten the bolts. Tighten the bolts securely using a 7mm socket and ratchet.
11. Reconnect the Trunk Liner: Carefully place the trunk liner back into position and secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
12. Test the Antenna: Reconnect the battery and turn on the radio. The antenna should extend and retract smoothly when you change between stations or turn the radio on and off.
