89 Pontiac 6000 cooling fan will not come on even though I replaced the temp sensor and everything else looks okay. Fan works when air is turned unplugged next?

Here are a few things you can check:

1. Check the fan relay: The fan relay is responsible for turning on the cooling fan when the engine reaches a certain temperature. If the relay is faulty, the fan will not come on even if the temperature sensor is working properly. To check the relay, locate it in the fuse box and swap it with a similar relay. If the fan comes on when you do this, the relay is faulty and needs to be replaced.

2. Check the fan switch: On some vehicles, the fan is controlled by a fan switch, also called a thermostatic switch. This is another temperature sensor that turns on the fan. It's usually located near the thermostat housing or coolant outlet pipe. To check the fan switch, disconnect the electrical connector and jumper the two wires together. If the fan comes on, the switch is faulty.

3. Check the fan motor: If the fan relay and fan switch are both working properly, the problem could be with the fan motor itself. To check the fan motor, remove the electrical connector and apply power directly to the motor. If the fan does not come on, the motor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Here are some additional things to check:

- Make sure that the coolant level is full.

- Inspect the radiator for any blockages.

- Check the water pump to make sure that it is working properly.

If you have tried all of these things and the fan still doesn't come on, you should take your vehicle to a mechanic for further diagnosis.
