1. Ensure the vehicle is off. Make sure the engine is turned off and the ignition switch is in the "Off" position.
2. Insert the master key. Insert the working master key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position.
3. Quickly turn the key off. Quickly turn the key from the "On" position back to the "Off" position. Repeat this turning-on-and-off motion rapidly for three times within 15 seconds.
4. Wait for the security light. After the third time turning the key off, wait for the security light on the dashboard to come on and remain lit. This indicates that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
5. Press and hold the lock button. On the keyless remote you want to program, press and hold the lock button for 5 seconds.
6. Press the unlock button. While still holding the lock button down, press the unlock button once and then release both buttons.
7. Repeat for any additional remotes. If you have more than one keyless remote to program, repeat steps 5 and 6 for each additional remote.
8. Turn the key to "On". Turn the key in the ignition to the "On" position and then back to "Off" again to exit programming mode.
The keyless remote(s) should now be programmed and ready to use with your Pontiac G6.
