1. Bypass VATS:
• Locate the VATS module, usually under the dashboard or near the steering column.
• Remove the VATS module.
• Connect the following wires:
- Wire 1 (purple) connects the ignition switch to the VATS module.
- Wire 2 (black) connects the VATS module to the starter solenoid.
- Wire 3 (white) connects the VATS module to the key resistor.
2. Bypass VATS with a resistor:
• Identify the resistance value of your key by checking the key resistor color code
chart. Each color code corresponds to a specific resistance value.
• Purchase a resistor with the same resistance value as your key.
• Disconnect the VATS module.
• Locate the connector from the VATS module to the ignition switch.
• Connect the resistor to the connector's purple and white wires.
• Reconnect the connector to the VATS module.
These methods will effectively bypass the VATS system and allow the vehicle to start without the use of a functional key.
*Note: Before performing any modifications to your vehicle, it's always recommended to consult a professional mechanic and refer to your vehicle's specific service manual to ensure proper procedures are followed.*
