The MG TC was a two-seater convertible with a 1250 cc inline-four engine and a four-speed manual gearbox. It was the first MG to feature a monocoque construction. The TC was introduced at the 1945 London Motor Show and went into production in October of that year.
By the end of production in 1949, 10,001 MGTCs had been built, making it the most successful MG model to date. The TC was a popular car both in Britain and in the United States, where it was sold as the "American MG". Today, it is considered one of the classic British sports cars of the post-war era.
