1. Connect the scan tool to your vehicle's OBD-II port. The OBD-II port is usually located under the dashboard, near the steering wheel.
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. Do not start the engine.
3. Select the "Emissions" or "Diagnostics" menu on the scan tool.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the emissions light.
Method 2: Disconnecting the Battery
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. The negative battery terminal is usually marked with a black "-" sign.
2. Wait at least 30 minutes. This will allow the power capacitors in the vehicle's computer to discharge.
3. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Start the engine. The emissions light should now be reset.
Note: If the emissions light comes back on after resetting it, there may be an underlying problem with your vehicle's emissions system. You should have your vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic to diagnose and repair the problem.
