2. Remove the oil filter. Remove the three 17 mm bolts that hold it in place and slowly remove it. Be sure to place a drip pan under the filter.
3. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new filter and screw it onto the oil filter mount until it is hand-tight.
4. Replace the oil drain plug. Tighten it until it is snug.
5. Add the recommended amount of new engine oil to the engine.
6. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to fill the oil filter.
7. Check the oil level on the dipstick and add more oil if needed.
