1. Remove the serpentine drive belt.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Remove the alternator bracket.
4. Remove the water pump pulley retaining nut.
5. Remove the water pump pulley.
6. Remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump.
3.0-Liter V-6 Engine
1. Remove the serpentine drive belt.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Remove the water pump pulley.
4. Remove the six bolts that hold the water pump in place and remove the water pump.
Notes:
- The water pump seal is pressed into the timing case cover. Use a small prybar or a seal puller to remove it.
- Some water pumps have an O-ring located between the pump and the engine block. If your water pump has an O-ring, make sure to replace it when you install the new pump.
- When tightening the water pump bolts, tighten them in a crisscross pattern and gradually increase the torque until the bolts are snug.
