* Jack and jack stands

* Spring compressors
Instructions:
1. Park your car on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Jack up the front of your car until the wheel you're working on is off the ground.
3. Place a jack stand under the car for safety.
4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
5. Use a screwdriver to pry off the dust cap from the center of the strut.
6. Remove the cotter pin and then the nut from the top of the strut.
7. Use a wrench to loosen the two nuts that hold the strut to the steering knuckle.
8. Use a spring compressor to compress the strut spring.
9. Once the spring is compressed, remove the two bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle.
10. Remove the old strut and install the new strut.
11. Re-install the bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle.
12. Remove the spring compressor.
13. Tighten the two nuts that hold the strut to the steering knuckle.
14. Reinstall the cotter pin and then the nut on top of the strut.
15. Replace the dust cap.
16. Put the wheel back on and lower the car.
Tips:
* Be careful when compressing the strut spring. It can be dangerous if not done properly.
* Make sure that the new struts are the correct size for your car.
* If you're not comfortable doing this repair yourself, take it to a mechanic.
