2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4-Cylinder Thermostat Location

1. Open the hood of your Eclipse and locate the thermostat housing. It is located on the front of the engine, near the top. The thermostat housing is usually black or silver in color, and it has a hose attached to it.

2. Remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing in place.

3. Lift the thermostat housing off of the engine.

4. Remove the old thermostat from the housing.

5. Inspect the old thermostat for damage. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.

6. Reinstall the new thermostat into the housing.

7. Reinstall the thermostat housing on the engine and tighten the bolts.

8. Reattach the hose to the thermostat housing.

9. Close the hood of your Eclipse.
