1. Park the car on level ground and engage the parking brake.
2. Open the hood the car and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine bay, on the driver's side. The dipstick is typically marked with a red handle.
3. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Re-insert the dipstick into the transmission fluid tube until it is fully seated.
5. Remove the dipstick again and check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark. Use only the type of transmission fluid recommended in the owner's manual.
It is important to check the transmission fluid level regularly, as low fluid levels can cause damage to the transmission.
