1. Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the coolant reservoir. It is a plastic tank with a black cap located near the front of the engine bay, on the driver's side.
2. Remove the cap from the coolant reservoir.
3. Look inside the reservoir and you will see a round, black object with a wire coming out of it. This is the thermostat.
4. Using a screwdriver, loosen the clamp that holds the thermostat in place.
5. Remove the thermostat from the reservoir.
6. Inspect the thermostat for damage or debris. If it is damaged or dirty, replace it.
7. Reinstall the thermostat in the reverse order of removal.
8. Add coolant to the reservoir until it is full.
9. Replace the cap on the reservoir and close the hood of your vehicle.
