2. Locate the oil drain plug. It is usually a 17mm bolt located on the bottom of the oil pan.
3. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
4. Remove the oil drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely.
5. Replace the oil drain plug. Tighten the oil drain plug until it is snug.
6. Locate the oil filter. It is usually a cylindrical-shaped part located near the top of the engine.
7. Remove the oil filter. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter. Be careful not to spill any oil.
8. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
9. Screw on the new oil filter. Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug. Do not over-tighten the oil filter.
10. Add new oil to the engine. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. Add oil as needed until the oil level reaches the "Full" mark on the dipstick.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
12. Check for leaks. Look under the vehicle for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leak stops.
