1. Open the hood of your Kia Sorento.
2. Locate the engine oil dipstick. It is usually marked with a yellow or orange handle and is located near the front of the engine.
3. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean using a paper towel.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the engine and pull it out again. Check the oil level on the dipstick. If the oil level is low, you will need to add oil to the engine.
5. Locate the oil drain plug. It is usually located on the bottom of the oil pan, which is the lowest part of the engine. The drain plug is typically a 17mm bolt.
6. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
7. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug. Be careful, as the oil will be hot.
8. Allow the oil to drain completely into the oil drain pan.
9. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug. Tighten the plug until it is snug.
10. Add new oil to the engine through the oil fill cap. The oil fill cap is usually located near the top of the engine.
11. Check the oil level on the dipstick again. Make sure that the oil level is between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
12. Replace the oil dipstick.
13. Close the hood of your Kia Sorento.
The oil pan is located under the engine. It is a metal pan that holds the engine oil. The oil pan is usually located below the oil filter.
