- New cabin filter
- Screwdriver
- 10mm socket and ratchet
Instructions:
1. Open the hood of your Outback.
2. Locate the cabin air filter housing. It is a black plastic box located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, just below the windshield.
3. There is a tab that locks the cabin air filter cover. Unscrew the tab using a screwdriver.
4. Remove the cabin air filter cover.
5. Remove the old cabin air filter.
6. Insert the new cabin air filter in the same orientation as the old filter.
7. Replace the cabin air filter cover.
8. Screw the tab back in to lock the cabin air filter cover.
9. Close the hood.
Tips:
- It is a good idea to replace your cabin air filter every 12 months or 12,000 miles.
- If you drive in dusty or polluted areas, you may need to replace the filter more often.
- A new cabin air filter can help to improve the air quality in your car and reduce the amount of dust and pollen that enters the cabin.
