Locate the Air Filter Box:
_ Pop the hood of your Solara.
_ The air filter box is located in the engine bay.
_ It's usually a black plastic box with the word "TOYOTA" printed on the top.
Remove the Old Air Filter:
_ Unclip the two plastic tabs on the air filter box.
_ Lift off the cover of the air filter box.
_ Remove the old air filter from inside the box.
_ Be careful not to drop any dirt or debris into the air intake.
Inspect the Air Filter Box:
_ Check inside the air filter box for any dirt or debris.
_ If necessary, remove the dirt and debris using a vacuum cleaner.
Insert the New Air Filter:
_ Insert the new air filter into the air filter box.
_ Make sure the air filter is seated properly and that it's not blocking the air intake.
Reinstall the Air Filter Box Cover:
_ Replace the cover of the air filter box and snap the two plastic tabs into place.
Your air filter is now replaced and your Toyota Solara will be able to breathe more easily!
Tips:
_ Replace the air filter every 30,000 miles or 24 months, whichever comes first.
_ A dirty air filter can reduce fuel efficiency and performance, and can cause premature wear and damage to your engine.
_ If you live in a dusty area or drive on unpaved roads, replace the air filter more frequently than recommended.
