1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down for a few minutes.
3. Open the hood of your car.
4. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located on the driver's side of the engine, near the front of the car.
5. Pull the dipstick out of the transmission and wipe it clean with a paper towel.
6. Insert the dipstick back into the transmission until it is fully seated.
7. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
8. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add transmission fluid. Use the type of transmission fluid that is recommended in your owner's manual.
9. Reinsert the dipstick and check the fluid level again. Make sure that the fluid level is between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
10. Close the hood of your car.
