To access the spark plugs on a 2006 Kia Sportage, you will need to remove the engine cover and the air intake hose.
Disconnect the Negative terminal of the Battery
1. Open the hood and remove the engine cover by unlatching the lock and lifting the cover off.
2. Locate the spark plug covers or coils on top of the engine. They will be attached to the cylinder head with bolts.
3. Remove the bolts that secure the spark plug covers or coils and set them aside
4. Remove the covers (usually by simply pulling them straight up).
5. You will now see the spark plugs which are located in individual wells.
