2. Drain about a quarter of the coolant from the radiator.
3. Lift the vehicle up and locate the thermostat housing. It is usually located near the top of the engine, near the radiator.
4. Loosen the bolts holding the thermostat housing in place and remove it.
5. Remove the old thermostat and gasket from the housing.
6. Inspect the thermostat and housing for damage. If either is damaged, replace it.
7. Install the new thermostat and gasket in the housing.
8. Reinstall the thermostat housing and bolts.
9. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
10. Check the coolant level and top it off if necessary.
