Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine. Allow the headlights to cool down if they have been recently used.
Open the hood. There is a release latch located inside the driver's footwell, near the brake pedal.
Identify the headlight assembly that needs to be replaced. Each headlight assembly is located behind the corresponding front headlight lens.
Locate the retaining screws or bolts that hold the headlight assembly in place. There are usually two or three screws or bolts located around the edges of the assembly.
Loosen the retaining screws or bolts using a screwdriver or a wrench. Do not remove the screws or bolts completely at this point.
Disconnect the electrical connector that powers the headlight assembly. The connector is located on the back of the assembly. Press down on the locking tab and pull the connector apart.
Carefully remove the headlight assembly from the vehicle. It may be necessary to gently pry the assembly loose if it is stuck.
Inspect the bulb of the old assembly. If the bulb is broken or burned out, proceed to the next step. If the bulb is still good, you can reinstall the old assembly and skip to the last step.
Install the new headlight bulb into the headlight assembly. Be sure to install the bulb correctly, aligning the pins on the bulb with the holes in the socket.
Secure the new headlight assembly in place by tightening the retaining screws or bolts that you loosened earlier.
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Close the hood of the car.
