Instructions:
1. Safety First:
- Before starting any work, ensure the vehicle is parked on level ground, the engine is turned off, and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Locate Blower Fan Assembly:
- Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the air intake cowl at the base of the windshield.
- You'll need to remove this cowl to access the blower fan assembly.
3. Remove Cowl:
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the cowl in place.
- Carefully remove the cowl by lifting it upwards.
4. Disconnect Battery (Optional):
- As an added safety precaution, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid any electrical mishaps.
5. Locate Blower Fan Assembly:
- Once the cowl is removed, you'll see the blower motor assembly located behind it.
6. Remove Fan Assembly:
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the fan assembly housing.
- Be careful not to drop any screws into the fan housing.
7. Unplug Fan Motor:
- Locate the electrical connector attached to the fan motor and unplug it.
8. Remove Old Fan:
- Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the old fan motor out of the fan housing.
9. Clean Fan Housing:
- This is an excellent time to clean any dust or debris from the fan housing using a vacuum cleaner or a brush.
10. Install New Fan:
- Place the new fan motor into the fan housing, ensuring it sits securely.
11. Reconnect Fan Motor:
- Plug in the electrical connector to the fan motor.
12. Secure the Fan Assembly:
- Replace the screws that held the fan housing in place, tightening them securely.
13. Reinstall Cowl:
- Reattach the cowl removed earlier, ensuring it's securely fastened.
14. Reconnect Battery (if disconnected):
- If you disconnected the negative battery terminal, reconnect it now.
15. Test the Fan:
- Turn on the ignition and adjust the climate control settings to activate the blower fan.
- Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations.
16. Enjoy Warm Air:
- Enjoy your newly functioning heater blower fan, providing warmth on those chilly days.
