1. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. It is usually located on the driver's side of the engine bay, near the firewall. It is a plastic tank with a black cap.
2. Clean the area around the reservoir. This will help to prevent dirt and debris from getting into the fluid.
3. Remove the cap from the reservoir. Be careful not to spill any fluid.
4. Add power steering fluid to the reservoir. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the reservoir.
5. Replace the cap on the reservoir. Tighten the cap until it is snug.
6. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the power steering fluid and help to remove any air bubbles from the system.
7. Check the fluid level again. If necessary, add more fluid to bring the level to between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks.
Be sure to use the type of power steering fluid that is recommended by your vehicle's owner's manual. Most Chevy Silverados use Dexron-III ATF.
