How do you remove the fan clutch on a 2001 Ford Ranger?

To remove the fan clutch on a 2001 Ford Ranger, you will need the following tools:

* A 36mm box wrench

* A 1/2-inch drive ratchet

* A 1/2-inch drive breaker bar

* A rubber mallet

* Safety glasses

Instructions

1. Put on your safety glasses.

2. Locate the fan clutch. It is located at the front of the engine, in front of the radiator.

3. Use the 36mm box wrench to loosen the fan clutch nut.

4. If the nut is too tight to loosen with the wrench, you can use the 1/2-inch drive ratchet and breaker bar to loosen the nut.

5. Once the nut is loose, use the rubber mallet to tap on the fan clutch to break it free from the water pump shaft.

6. Remove the fan clutch from the water pump shaft.

Tips

* If the fan clutch is stuck on the water pump shaft, you can use a penetrating oil to help loosen it.

* Be careful not to drop the fan clutch. It is heavy and can cause injury.
