1. Locate the fuse box. The fuse box for the 2004 Chevy Malibu is located under the hood, on the driver's side of the engine compartment. It is a black plastic box with a red cover.
2. Open the fuse box cover.
3. Locate the fuse or relay for the instrument panel lights. The fuse or relay for the instrument panel lights is labeled "INST LPS" on the fuse box cover.
4. Check the fuse or relay. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage. If the relay is faulty, replace it with a new relay of the same type.
5. Close the fuse box cover.
6. Check the instrument panel lights. The instrument panel lights should now be working.
If the instrument panel lights still do not work after replacing the fuse or relay, there may be another problem with the electrical system. You should have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic.
