Tools Needed:
- 10mm socket wrench
- Basic wrench set
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
Procedure:
1. Open the hood of the Corvette.
2. Locate the battery. It will be situated on the left side of the engine bay.
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen the nut that holds the negative cable in place.
4. Remove the ground strap. The ground strap is a metal strip connected between the negative battery terminal and the chassis of the vehicle. Unbolt it from the chassis using a wrench.
5. Disconnect the positive cable from the battery. Loosen the nut holding the positive cable using the 10mm socket wrench.
6. Remove the old battery. Lift it out of the battery tray and set it aside.
7. Clean the battery tray. Use a damp cloth to clean the battery tray and remove any debris or corrosion.
8. Place the new battery in the tray. Make sure that the positive terminal is facing the same direction as the positive terminal on the old battery.
9. Reattach the positive and negative cables to their respective terminals. Tighten the nuts until they are snug.
10. Reattach the ground strap to the chassis.
11. Close the hood of the Corvette.
12. You may need to reset the clock and radio after replacing the battery.
