How power steering works
When the driver turns the steering wheel, a sensor in the steering column sends a signal to the ECU. The ECU then activates the electric motor, which provides the power to turn the wheels.
The amount of assistance provided by the electric motor is variable, depending on the vehicle's speed and the driver's input. At low speeds, the electric motor provides more assistance, making it easier to turn the steering wheel.
