1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the serpentine belt. The serpentine belt is the long, thin belt that runs around the front of the engine. It is connected to the crankshaft, water pump, alternator, and power steering pump.
3. Loosen the tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley is located near the top of the engine, on the passenger side. It has a large bolt in the center. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt until the tensioner pulley moves.
4. Remove the serpentine belt. Once the tensioner pulley is loose, you can remove the serpentine belt. Start by removing the belt from the crankshaft pulley. Then, work your way around the engine, removing the belt from each pulley.
5. Inspect the serpentine belt. Once the belt is removed, inspect it for wear and damage. If the belt is cracked, frayed, or glazed, it should be replaced.
6. Install the new serpentine belt. Start by installing the new belt on the crankshaft pulley. Then, work your way around the engine, installing the belt on each pulley.
7. Tighten the tensioner pulley. Once the new belt is installed, tighten the tensioner pulley. Use a wrench to tighten the bolt until the tensioner pulley is snug.
8. Start the engine and check the belts. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check the belts to make sure they are properly aligned and tensioned. If necessary, adjust the tensioner pulley.
