Brand new car battery light still on why?

1. The battery is not properly connected: Double-check that the positive and negative terminals of the battery are correctly connected to the corresponding terminals on the car. Ensure the connections are tight and free of corrosion.

2. Faulty wiring or connections: Inspect the wiring between the battery and the starter motor, alternator, and other electrical components. Look for any loose, damaged, or corroded wires or connections.

3. Faulty battery: Even though it's a new battery, there's a slight chance it might be defective. Have the battery tested at an auto parts store or a mechanic's shop to check its voltage and amperage output.

4. Alternator issues: The alternator is responsible for charging the battery while the engine is running. If the alternator is not functioning properly, it may not be able to generate enough power to recharge the battery, causing the battery light to remain on.

5. Voltage regulator issues: The voltage regulator controls the amount of voltage supplied to the battery from the alternator. A faulty voltage regulator can cause overcharging or undercharging of the battery, resulting in the battery light staying on.

6. Computer/ECU: In modern vehicles, the computer (Engine Control Unit) monitors and controls the charging system. If there is a problem with the computer or its sensors, it can affect the charging system and trigger the battery light.

If you are unable to identify and fix the issue yourself, it's best to take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic or an auto electrical specialist for further diagnosis and repair.
