Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need:
- A small flat-head screwdriver or pry tool
- A CR2032 3-volt coin battery (available at most hardware stores)
1. Locate the battery compartment. The battery compartment is located on the back of the key remote. It is a small, rectangular, plastic cover with a slot at one end.
2. Pry open the battery compartment. Use the flat-head screwdriver or pry tool to gently pry open the battery compartment cover. Be careful not to damage the cover or the key remote.
3. Remove the old battery. Once the battery compartment is open, you will see the old battery inside. Use your finger or the flat-head screwdriver to remove the old battery.
4. Insert the new battery. Take the new CR2032 3-volt coin battery and insert it into the battery compartment, positive side up. Make sure that the battery is seated correctly and that the positive and negative terminals are aligned properly.
5. Close the battery compartment cover. Once the new battery is inserted, close the battery compartment cover. Press down on the cover until it snaps into place.
6. Test the key remote. Press the buttons on the key remote to test that it is working properly. If the buttons do not work, check to make sure that the battery is inserted correctly and that the battery compartment cover is closed properly.
