(NOTE: The fuel pump for the 2004 Kia Spectra is a fuel pump module which includes a fuel pump, a fuel level sending unit, and a strainer all in one unit, and it's located inside the fuel tank):
1. Access through vehicle's interior carpet in the luggage compartment on the driver's side.
2. Unfasten the lock ring using the special service tool or with a suitable screw driver.
3. Disconnect both hoses by pushing in on the locking clips then pull back to disconnect the fuel lines.
4. Disconnect electrical connector.
5. Remove the lock ring assembly.
6. Pull out the fuel pump assembly.
7. Take note of the orientation marks on the fuel pump assembly and the fuel tank and match them up when reinstalling.
