- The crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the engine, behind the timing belt cover.
- It is a small, cylindrical sensor with a single electrical connector on the end. It is also located near the flywheel of the engine.
To remove the crankshaft position sensor:
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
2. Use a wrench to loosen the mounting bolt that holds the sensor in place.
3. Remove the sensor from the engine.
When reinstalling the crankshaft position sensor:
- Be careful not to over-tighten the mounting bolt, as this can damage the sensor.
- Ensure the electrical connector securely attached to the sensor.
