1. Open the hood.
The hood release is located inside the vehicle, on the driver's side.
2. Locate the battery.
The battery is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It is covered by a black plastic cover.
3. Remove the battery cover.
To remove the battery cover, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the tabs on the side of the cover.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
The negative battery cable is the black cable that is connected to the battery. To disconnect the negative battery cable, use a wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the cable to the battery.
5. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
The positive battery cable is the red cable that is connected to the battery. To disconnect the positive battery cable, use a wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the cable to the battery.
6. Remove the battery.
Once both of the battery cables are disconnected, you can remove the battery from the vehicle. To remove the battery, lift it up and out of the battery compartment.
7. Install the new battery.
To install the new battery, place it in the battery compartment and connect the positive battery cable, using a wrench to tighten the bolt that holds the cable to the battery.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Replace the battery cover.
10. Close the hood.
