How do you change into 4W Drive in a 2000 Jeep Wrangler?

To Change from 2WD to 4WD High Range in a 2000 Jeep Wrangler:

1. Shift the transfer case into neutral. The transfer case is located on the driver's side of the transmission tunnel. To shift into neutral, pull up on the lever and move it to the left.

2. Slowly turn the steering wheel to the left as far as it will go. This will disengage the front drive hubs.

3. Turn the key to the "On" position (do not start the engine), this will activate the dash indicator lights. Do not hold the key in the "Start" position because this could damage your vehicle's starter.

4. Press the 4WD HI button on the center console. The 4WD HI light on the dash will illuminate when 4WD is engaged.

5. Shift into the desired gear (D for drive, R for reverse, etc.) and drive.

To Change from 4WD High Range to 2WD:

1. Press the 2WD button on the center console.

2. Shift the transmission into 2WD (D for drive, R for reverse, etc.) and drive.
