How do you change the back 3 spark plugs on a 1996 to 2000 Dodge Caravan?

Tools Needed:

- Spark Plug Socket (short and long extensions may be needed)

- Ratchet

- Spark plug gap gauge

- Dielectric grease

- New spark plugs

Instructions:

1. Remove the engine cover. It is usually held in place by a few bolts.

2. Locate the spark plugs. They are located on the back of the engine, near the firewall.

3. Disconnect the spark plug wires. Use a spark plug wire puller to remove the wires from the spark plugs. Be careful not to damage the wires.

4. Remove the old spark plugs. Use a spark plug socket to loosen and remove the spark plugs. Be careful not to drop the spark plugs into the engine.

5. Check the gap on the new spark plugs. Use a spark plug gap gauge to check the gap between the center electrode and the ground electrode. The gap should be set to the specification for your engine.

6. Apply dielectric grease to the new spark plugs. This will help to prevent the spark plugs from seizing in the cylinder head.

7. Install the new spark plugs. Hand-tighten the spark plugs until they are snug. Then, use a ratchet to tighten the spark plugs to the specified torque.

8. Reconnect the spark plug wires. Attach the spark plug wires to the spark plugs. Be sure to push the wires all the way down until they click into place.

9. Replace the engine cover.

Tips:

- If you are unable to reach the spark plugs from the top of the engine, you may need to remove the intake manifold.

- Be careful not to drop any tools into the engine.

- If you are unsure about any of the steps, consult a professional mechanic.
