* Jack and jack stands
* Lug wrench
* Socket wrench set
* Flathead screwdriver
* Coil spring compressor
* Safety glasses
Procedure:
1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel that you'll be working on.
2. Jack up the car and place it on jack stands.
3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
4. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the brake caliper hold-down clip.
5. Remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way with a piece of wire.
6. Use a coil spring compressor to compress the coil spring.
7. Remove the lower control arm bolt.
8. Pry the lower control arm down with a pry bar or a large screwdriver.
9. Remove the upper control arm bolt.
10. Remove the coil spring.
11. Install the new coil spring.
12. Reinstall the upper control arm bolt.
13. Reinstall the lower control arm bolt.
14. Remove the coil spring compressor.
15. Reinstall the brake caliper.
16. Reinstall the brake caliper hold-down clip.
17. Put the wheel back on and tighten the lug nuts.
18. Lower the car off the jack stands.
19. Tighten the lug nuts.
Tips:
* Make sure that the car is safely supported on jack stands before you begin working on it.
* Be careful when compressing the coil spring. It can release suddenly and cause injury.
* If you don't have a coil spring compressor, you can rent one from an auto parts store.
