How do you change the alternator belt on a El Camino?

To change the alternator belt on an El Camino, you will need the following tools:

* A ratchet and socket set

* A breaker bar

* A pry bar

* A new alternator belt

1. Park your El Camino on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Raise the hood of your El Camino and locate the alternator belt. It is located on the front of the engine and is wrapped around the alternator, water pump, and crankshaft pulley.

3. Use the ratchet and socket set to loosen the tensioner bolt on the alternator. This will loosen the belt and allow you to remove it.

4. Use the pry bar to pry the belt off of the pulleys.

5. Install the new alternator belt by wrapping it around the pulleys in the same way as the old belt was installed.

6. Use the ratchet and socket set to tighten the tensioner bolt until the belt is snug.

7. Start the engine and check the alignment of the belt. If it is not aligned correctly, adjust the tensioner bolt until it is.

8. Turn off the engine and lower the hood of your El Camino.

Your alternator belt is now changed.
