1. Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine compartment, near the transmission.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid dipstick tube until it is fully seated.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, add transmission fluid to the transmission through the dipstick tube. Use only the type of transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
8. Reinsert the dipstick and check the fluid level again. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the fluid level is correct.
9. Replace the dipstick and close the hood of your car.
