- A screwdriver
- A multimeter
- A 10mm wrench
Here are the steps to adjust the TPS:
1. Start by loosening the two screws that hold the TPS in place.
2. Once the screws are loose, you can gently pry the TPS off of the throttle body.
3. With the TPS removed, you can now access the throttle position sensor mounting holes.
4. Insert the screwdriver into one of the mounting holes and turn it until the TPS is seated correctly.
5. Once the TPS is seated correctly, you can tighten the two screws that hold it in place.
6. Next, you will need to use the multimeter to check the voltage signal from the TPS.
7. Connect the positive lead of the multimeter to the TPS signal wire and the negative lead to ground.
8. Turn the key to the "ON" position and read the voltage signal from the TPS.
9. The voltage signal should be between 0.2 volts and 4.8 volts.
10. If the voltage signal is not within the correct range, you will need to adjust the TPS until it is.
11. To adjust the TPS, loosen the 10mm screw that holds the TPS in place and turn the TPS until the voltage signal is within the correct range.
12. Once the voltage signal is correct, tighten the 10mm screw to hold the TPS in place.
