1. Run the engine until it reaches the normal operating temperature.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
3. Locate the oil filter. It is located on the bottom of the engine, near the oil pan.
4. Place an oil pan under the oil filter to catch any dripping oil.
5. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter.
6. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
7. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug.
8. Tighten the oil filter with the oil filter wrench until it is snug.
9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the oil.
10. Shut off the engine and inspect the oil level.
