- A funnel
- A Phillips head screwdriver
- Water
- BMW-approved coolant
- A clean rag
Instructions
1. Park your BMW X5 on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
3. Open the hood of your BMW X5.
4. Locate the coolant reservoir. It is a white plastic tank with a black cap, located on the driver's side of the engine bay.
5. Remove the coolant reservoir cap by turning it counterclockwise.
6. Add enough water to the reservoir to bring the fluid level to the "Max" mark.
7. Add BMW-approved coolant to the reservoir until the fluid level reaches the "Min" mark.
8. Replace the coolant reservoir cap by turning it clockwise until it is snug.
9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
10. Check the coolant level again and add more coolant if necessary.
11. Replace the funnel.
12. Close the hood of your BMW X5.
13. Dispose of the old coolant properly.
