2. Disconnect the negative terminal battery cable.
3. Locate the EGR valve. On the 2001 2.5-liter Chevy Tracker, it is mounted on the left side of the engine block, just below the throttle body.
4. Remove the two bolts that hold the EGR valve in place.
5. Remove the EGR valve from the engine block.
6. Inspect the EGR valve for damage or carbon buildup. If the valve is damaged or clogged, replace it with a new one.
7. Reinstall the EGR valve in the reverse order that you removed it.
8. Reconnect the negative terminal battery cable.
